Red tape cannot be avoided.  Datchet Village Hall provides buildings and public liability insurance, and also a music licence.  Large items such as bouncy castles probably need something more, and alcohol always requires extra thought.   Some pointers are given below, but always check with the Borough Council or the Datchet Hall Management Committee if in any doubt.

Disco:     No special licence, but be sure who is responsible for the equipment while on the site.

Electrical safety:    Anything brought into the hall by a hirer must be suitable for purpose and in good condition.  

Raffles:   To be sure what the law says about selling raffle tickets or holding bingo sessions, advice is give here.

Personal items:     Be careful what you bring into the hall.   No special provision is made for safekeeping of your personal items, so be vigilant;  if there is something of value you must bring, be sure your insurance covers loss or damage.
